MS episode 115:: #Quiltcon2017 recap with Suzy Quilts

Quiltcon2017 recap with Suzy Quilts

Suzy from Suzy Quilts and I met up in Savannah, Ga to attend #Quiltcon2017. Suzy has attended Quiltcon before but this was my first time. We chat about what we loved and what we wished had been different. We also tell the crazy story of what happened with our airbnb because we hope that it will help others if they are ever in the same situation. We also talk about having a business in the sewing industry. Suzy has been an amazing friend to me since we met and we often talk about business. Okay we talk about business all of the time and I wanted to share some of our chat with you as well. It is an episode packed with so much great information.

MS episode 114 – Melody Miller of Cotton + Steel

ep114artThe reason I love this podcast so much is the ability to the hear stories of others. I don’t think I will ever tire of talking and chatting about how life has its up and downs but it is how we all get through it that speaks volumes. I couldn’t have been happier when Melody said she would come on the podcast to chat with me about Cotton + Steel, the company she and her fellow designers built. It is like the coolest sewing related episode of How I Built This! Melody saw something in herself and her art to really pave a new creative path for her life. She opens up about the struggles, the doubts, as well as the triumphs and perks of paving your own creative path in an industry that can be reluctant to change. This is an interview you won’t want to miss. It is just so packed with information, inspiration, and pure awesomeness.

MS episode 112:: The Fold Line

episode 112 the fold line

I love the creatives in our industry that see something missing and fill that gap. The online duo, Rachel and Kate, from The Fold Line did just that. They saw something they wanted and decided to build an online pattern database with loads of resources, patterns, and information. It is like a one stop awesome shop for anything garment sewing and it is so simple to use. I chatted with Kate, as Rachel is still rocking a job elsewhere, about how it all started,  some of the pros and cons to tackling a dream like this, and what they have to offer their users. And Kate’s voice is so soothing to me which made it even a cooler chat. I hope you will tune in and be inspired just like I am.
