Featured Blogger:: Alison Glass’s Clover Sunshine

Today we are going to talk about Alison’s line Clover Sunshine. I really love the story behind this line. I love that she sat her daughter down and asked her what her favorite things were. She also put the sunshine part in because her mom always sang you are my sunshine to her. I just love that Alison is so in tune with who she is as a designer and what she wants for each of her lines. Color is defiantly something she rocks at.

Look at the colors – WOW just so intense and I think they are so moody. Weird huh that I think colors in fabric are moody but they are. I really love what she does with aqua/teal – I love all of the different ways she showcases it. Again I love those colors as I said with Sun Print and Lucky Penny.

Here is a great example of how awesome Clover Sunshine would look in a quilt. WOW. so amazing. This is from the Crafty Fox on Flickr.

( And Amanda is up to some amazing things… go HERE to check out her blog. You will love it I promise. Hoping we can get her on the podcast to chat soon too.)

I just love this line too. I think I will say that about all of Alison’s lines because I really love what she does with color. I love how she makes it so rich and vibrant. I also like that you can use it for so many different projects from clothing to quilts to purses to things for children. So many options.

What have you made with Clover Sunshine?

Featured blogger:: Alison Glass – Sun Print

Have you ever looked at a line of fabric and thought WOW this is ah maz ing?!?!? I think we all did that with Sun Print from Alison. She really had us at Bike Path but man to put all of those other basics with it was great for every one of us that loves a good basic. And I use basic loosely. I think these are so awesome and can be used in so many ways as the main fabric or as an accent. So let us take a look at the whole SunPrint collection.

See what I mean by amazing. All of those colors. All of those great designs that are there but not too much. Alison said in our chat on the podcast (you can find that HERE) that she was inspired by sun prints hence the name. Remember when you were little and there was the paper you could get that when you put an object on it it would fade the paper around the object. You would lift the object and there would be that fantastic silhouette left from the object and the fading from the sun. So cool. This collection is a lot like that. The images don’t overwhelm the color of the fabric but more like a subtle silhouette. What is my favorite? Well I think I would have to say….

I think this is a great collection that you can use in so many ways. I would love to see what you have made with Sunprint. I am planning on using the feathers pattern from Alison to make something. I haven’t decided yet just what I want to make but I think I have an idea. If you are interested in that pattern (below) go to Alison’s shop. More info about the quilt along with the feathers pattern check out THIS blog post.

So I have the new podcast episode up on the podcast page. I hope you can tune in to hear the chat I had with Alison Glass. I am pretty sure Alison is the most genuine person I have ever met but well not met, in person that is. She has been nice to me from the moment I emailed her to ask her to be a featured blogger and on the podcast. So so nice. I know you will enjoy the chat.

go HERE to find the podcast post

Alison is a fabric designer with some really awesome lines out that I am sure most of you have heard of. Heck you probably entered to win those 74 fat quarters she was giving away too:) I know I did. I just love the colors of all of her lines of fabric and I really feel such emotion from her fabrics. I know that sounds weird but her colors have such depth to them. I love them. We will be looking at each one of her lines throughout the week.

First let’s take a look at Lucky Penny.

(she talks about the meaning behind this fabric line on the podcast)

There is so much more information about Lucky Penny HERE on Alison’s blog. I love the colors and they have a really great handle (feel) to them too. I have a thing for tealish colors… they speak to me. They say things like buy me and make things with me. 🙂 They really do. I tell my husband that sometimes. he he

Go HERE to check out all of the projects made with Lucky Penny.

Like this pouch from Olivia Jane that she blogged about HERE
