There aren’t many times I have guests on the podcast that I meet in person before I have the chance to invite them on the podcast. Aaron Hoffman is one of the few and I am so happy it happened that way. Aaron is a quiet guy that sees this industry from a completely unique perspective who happens to always have a place to charge a cell phone at events. You have to know the secrets and Suzy from Suzy Quilts was in the know. We have chatted with Aaron at several events and it was so much fun to hear Aaron talk about the story of Hoffman Fabrics and Me + You, the modern batiks division Aaron created. The story is so unique and without a doubt legendary. I mean Magnum PI’s famous Hawaiian shirt was made with Hoffman Fabrics. That is epic. So I convinced Aaron to come on the podcast for a chat so you, too, can hear this story. We also had a surprise guest, Michelle Flores, Markering Director and the official Hoffman Fabrics guide. She gives tours of the Hoffman warehouse in California and knew so much about the story of the company. It is an honor to be able to share the stories in this amazing community.
Suzy from Suzy Quilts and I met up in Savannah, Ga to attend #Quiltcon2017. Suzy has attended Quiltcon before but this was my first time. We chat about what we loved and what we wished had been different. We also tell the crazy story of what happened with our airbnb because we hope that it will help others if they are ever in the same situation. We also talk about having a business in the sewing industry. Suzy has been an amazing friend to me since we met and we often talk about business. Okay we talk about business all of the time and I wanted to share some of our chat with you as well. It is an episode packed with so much great information.
I invited two of my favorite podcasters on the show to chat about business, newsletters, and everything in between. I loved everything about these chats and I know you will too. Abby Glassenberg, from While She Naps and Craft Industry Alliance, really talks the nitty gritty of podcasting, blog numbers, making money, and, of course, newsletters. Rachel, from Maker Style, is a college student with a blog and podcast that I love. She is really on fire these days. I can’t wait for you to learn more about these ladies and get some inside information on what is working for us and what is not. Click the blog title to learn more.
