InstaPot Cover with Sulky Threads

InstaPot Cover with Sulky Threads

I am a big fan of my Instapot. I think it makes everything taste so yummy and flavorful. When Kelly, from Sulky Threads, asked me to make this cute cover for mine with some of my favorite Sulky Threads products I was so excited because let’s face it that big black and stainless pot isn’t so beautiful on the counter. Yea for quilted covers! Oh and the Sulky Stitch & Fuse that I used to stabilize the panels with makes it stand so sturdy. Oh La La.

I decided to use some orphan blocks from a recent project made with Art Gallery Fabrics. I love how colorful and vibrant Art Gallery fabrics are for projects. I just kept adding scraps to the orphan blocks until I had enough for the height and width for the project. I should mention that all of the fabrics from Art Gallery are from their awesome Color Master Fabric Boxes. They are seriously amazing.

I had this great dresden plate that wasn’t completely finished (missing a couple of blades) so I just appliqued it on the top circle and cut off the excess. I love how it turned out. It is really dramatic and colorful.

I used Cotton and Steel’s 50 weight threads in gold, pink, and silver for some straight line match stick quilting on the sides. I love the variation in color with the scrappy fabrics. My Janome Skyline S9 really has the most beautiful stitches. I just look at them and smile. SO beautiful.

I quilted the top in a fun pattern following the dresden blades. On small projects like this it is a great way to challenge yourself with some fun quilting. I don’t normally get so bold on my quilting when it is a bigger project but this was small and manageable.
