I think writing a book has always been a dream of mine so when I have friends who actually do write books I can’t wait to ask them all of the questions. I want to know the details because I can only imagine the process being difficult but so much fun when it is finished. So Carole Lyles Shaw is self publishing her own books and I think that is something I have heard a lot of buzz on lately. We talk about her process and why she chose to self publish. She is one modern quilter that is on fire. Sarah and Jen are two friends I met at Quilt Market in the Fall. We instantly hit it off and chatted the whole weekend. They have teamed up to co author a new book, Transfer Embellish Stitch – 16 Textile Projects for the Modern Maker. It is a book full of fun projects for all kinds of creatives. Laura is a modern quilting who is self taught with a thriving online shop. Laura and I chat about how she travels around the country sewing for her online shop. There are many highs and lows of owning an online shop but when you are constantly traveling and have limited space in a travel trailer. She is like a sewing powerhouse in a tiny space. I loved learning more about her process and what is to come for Vacilando Quilting Co. Click on the link in profile for the episode.
Siohban Rogers is an from a long line of makers and creatives. She, like most of us, came to quilting when she started to have friends who were having babies and quilts seemed like the perfect gift. That was her start to a passion for sewing and quilting which has lead her to publish many patterns in magazines, online, and her first book, By the Block. You are going to love hearing all about her journey. Click on the blog post title for show notes.
