MS episode 120:: Blueprints for Sewing

ep120art blueprints for sewing

I am excited to have Taylor from Blueprints for Sewing on the show today to chat about her journey into designing clothing patterns. She has such a sense of style and really puts a lot of thought into her patterns and fabric choices. I have her Geodesic top, the longer version, and A-Frame skirt, version 1, printed out to make as soon as I can get market sewing finished. Taylor teaches classes in her hometown of Boston and if you are near you should totally look into taking one. I wish I were near because I love the thought and time Taylor puts into each project she works on. You will hear the love she has for teaching others to make garments they will love to wear. I love a designer that really thinks about what the maker would feel great wearing on a daily basis. I think it is so cool that so many of her patterns combine garments with patchwork elements. I just can’t wait to experiment with the pockets on the A-frame Skirt maybe adding a peak of my favorite fabric I have been hoarding. And the Geodesic I think will be perfect for using up some coveted fat quarters. I can’t wait to experiment.
